Tombstone Tuesday

This is the tombstone of my great-grandmother Janie Ellen (Moore) Bradley Davis. She was b. 1 Oct 1858 in Macon Co., Missouri, the daughter of William Taylor Barry and Martha Elizabeth (Miller) Moore. She d. 28 Jun 1944 in Lebanon, Laclede Co., Missouri and is buried in Lebanon City Cemetery. She was first married to William Franklin Bradley (my great-grandfather) on 20 Apr 1876 in Macon Co., Missouri. They had nine children: Mary Annie, Infant Male, Lillie Francis, Clara Gertrude "Gertie", William Everett "Willie", Thomas Elbert Sr., Matilda Ellen "Tilda", Henry Edgar Earl (Twin) and Martha Elizabeth Pearl "Pearl" (Twin). Her second marriage was to Hanover Tinsley Davis, 29 Dec 1891 in Groom, Gray Co., Texas. They had five children: Priscilla (Twin), Aquilla (Twin), Joseph Tinsley, Cora Florence and Henry Clay.

Tombstone Tuesday

This is the tombstone for my great-grandparents Benjamin Franklin and Lucy Jane (Allen) Roberts. It is located in Rosehill Cemetery in Hazelton, Barber Co., Kansas. Benjamin Franklin was b. 12 Jun 1853 in Peoria, Adams Co., Illinois, the son of Daniel Sheldon and Permelia Rebecca (White) Roberts. He d. 17 Aug 1935 in Hazelton, Barber Co., Kansas. He m. Lucy Jane Allen 17 Feb 1884 in La Crosse, Macon Co., Missouri. Lucy Jane was b. 3 Feb 1866 in Newburg, Macon Co., Missouri, the daughter of Robert Linzie and Duretta Catherine "Cass" (Shumaker) Allen. She d. 22 Apr 1946 in Hardtner, Barber Co., Kansas. They had eight children: Linzie Sheldon, Duretta Florence "Flo", William Edward "Ed", an infant daughter who died shortly after birth, Walter Ray, Lillie May, Clarence Allen Sr., and Benjamin Albert "Bennie".
